Step 5 in the Seven steps to Positive Change ™ is INSPIRATION
Let’s do a quick review of the steps I’ve covered in detail in my previous blogs, available on my website. Ask yourself; “Is there a gap between where I am and where I want to go?” Here’s what you do:

1. Awareness, acceptance and self love
Sometimes the first step is to accept that you don’t accept, be aware that you haven’t been aware or love the part of you that hates you.

2. Desire
Know that you deserve whatever you ask for. Who put that desire within you anyhow?

3. Open to Receive…
Address the fear that is holding you back.

4. Believe!
Look for the reasons to believe your desires are coming true. Notice change and celebrate it within you.

5. INSPIRATION
ASK YOURSELF, “What one step can I take in the direction of my desire? AND TAKE IT!”

Step five sounds easy right? It is, when you can love yourself through the resistance that comes up when you are ready to take a step. This is a critical point in the process–review the previous steps and apply them to any resistance you feel.

Then ASK YOURSELF “What one step can I take in the direction of my desire? AND TAKE IT!”

Remember, steps can be small. A step leads to another step, you do not need to figure out every step along the way before you take the first one.

Here’s an example: while I have been enjoying writing these blogs, ironically I felt resistance to starting this one. I watched the resistance and I didn’t push myself to write it when I wasn’t feeling inspired. However days have ticked past and I designated this morning to write. I watched myself resisting through distractions of doing household chores before I sat down. Telling myself “I will know what I want to write, after I do the dishes, walk the dog….’

I witnessed the resistance and asked myself “What one small step can I take?”

The answer: “Sit down and open up your computer and a blank document…”

From there another step came in: “Review what you have shared.”

“Wallah!” “Voila!” the blog is written. It almost becomes habitual to resist what you desire because the powerful thoughts of “I don’t know.” “I can’t.” “I’m not good enough.”

We create positive change by noticing, and being gentle with ourselves and encouraging ourselves to simply take a step. I find stepping through the resistance is usually harder than the actual step I’m taking.
